Day 1
London - Mahe
We meet at Heathrow Airport for our flight to Mahe, Seychelles.
Day 2
Arrive in Seychelles
On arrival in the Seychelles we connect with our internal flight to Bird Island. Bird Island is the most northerly island of the Seychelles archipelago and is situated 65 miles from the main island of Mahé. A 30 minute flight by light aircraft gives the first stunning impressions of this coral cay, with its lush green interior, surrounded by over 5 Kilometres of fine white coral sand beaches, and lapped by turquoise clear waters. With only 24 bungalows to welcome guests, the island leaves you with a true 'castaway' feeling. Bird Island can really be regarded as a huge bird colony, with vast numbers of seabirds present, and calling continuously throughout the year. Although more widely known for its Sooty Tern Colony, many other birds call this coralline island home. Certain resident birds which can be seen on the island throughout the year include the Barred Ground Doves, the Greater Crested Terns who always seem to be in deep conversation, the ever observant Noddies, the Frigatebirds perched in the highest trees, Fairy Terns, White-tailed Tropicbirds, Seychelles Blue Pigeons and waders such as Grey Plovers, Curlew Sandpipers, and Ruddy Turnstones. Other birds are also possible such as species of boobies which can sometimes be seen, along with the Bar-tailed Godwits patrolling the beaches, Crab Plovers, Black-winged Stilts, Red-billed Tropicbirds, the Little Tern and Saunders' Tern, as well as land birds such as the Blue-cheeked Bee-eater and the Red Backed Shrike. These are of course, just a few of the birds we might be luck enough to view.
Day 3
Bird Island

Vallee Mai + Anse Lazio The palm forest is relatively pristine and it provides a refuge for viable populations of many endemic species, including the black parrot (Coracopsis nigra barklyi), restricted to Praslin Island and totally dependent on the Vallée de Mai and surrounding palm forest. Other species supported by the palm habitat include three endemic species of bronze gecko, endemic blue pigeons, bulbuls, sunbirds, swiftlets, Seychelles skinks, burrowing skinks, tiger chameleons, day geckos, caecilians, tree frogs, freshwater fish and many invertebrates. Lunch at Indian Ocean Lodge Hotel.
Day 6
La Digue Island
On La Digue main attraction will be Paradise Flycatcher also on the marshes of the plateau also hold an important population of Yellow Bittern, while on the hillside overlooking the plateau is located one of the few known nesting caves of Seychelles Swiftlet. Three other Seychelles endemics, Seychelles Blue Pigeon, Seychelles Bulbul and Seychelles Sunbird also breed. It is worth checking the open grassy areas for Common Waxbill, found only on la Digue, Mahé and Alphonse. Lunch at Lanbousir Restaurant
Day 7
A Full Day trip to Aride Island
Aride Island is the best nature reserve in the granitic islands and a visit is essential for anyone who wishes to enjoy the wild side of Seychelles. It hosts more seabirds of more species than the other 40 granitic islands combined.Breeding seabirds include the world’s largest populations of Tropical Shearwater and Lesser Noddy. Two other species, Red-tailed Tropicbird and Roseate Tern are not to be found on any other island in the granitics. Sometimes thousands, of roosting frigatebirds can be seen. The majority are Greater Frigatebird, with around 10 percent Lesser Frigatebird usually present. BBQ lunch.

Cousin is a small granitic island of 29 hectares. It was purchased to be run as a nature reserve by Royal Society for Wildlife Trusts in 1968. Here we will see a variety of birds including Seychelles Magpie-robin, Seychelles Warbler and Seychelles Fody, Fairy Tern, White-tailed Tropicbird and Tropical Shearwater breed all year-round, with large numbers of Bridled Tern. A few non-breeding waders are to be seen, some remaining year-round, others present only during the north-west monsoon. Most common are Ruddy Turnstone with Crab Plover also frequently to be seen.
