Iolo & Dewi Williams are guiding a wildlife tour to Uganda, February 2027
Your journey begins in Entebbe, a relaxed lakeside town where you can explore wildlife centres, lush botanical gardens, local markets, and vibrant restaurants. From there, you travel north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area and home to elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and extraordinary birdlife. Highlights include rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, game drives on the savannah, a scenic walk to the top of the falls, and two spectacular Nile River boat cruises—one to the base of the falls and one (optional) to the Nile Delta. You will also have the chance to track chimpanzees in Budongo Forest, an exciting encounter in a lively rainforest environment.
After returning to Entebbe for a night, you set out again for Mabamba Swamp, where a speedboat and canoe adventure offers an excellent chance to see the rare Shoebill stork. A short flight then takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its biodiversity and for being home to nearly half of all remaining mountain gorillas. Here, you will embark on a life-changing gorilla trekking experience, navigating steep forested terrain with expert guides before spending an intimate hour with a gorilla family. You may choose to do a second trek or enjoy community visits and forest walks in the tranquil surroundings.
Your safari concludes with a scenic flight back to Entebbe after nine days of wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, rainforest exploration, and unforgettable moments in Uganda’s most remarkable natural areas

Day 3 (Feb 21st 2027)
Your Ugandan adventure begins this morning with a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be seen in the wild, and enjoy an up-close rhino tracking experience. Continuing north-west, you arrive in Murchison Falls National Park, home to elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, and an impressive variety of bird species including the rare Shoebill. The mighty Nile flows through the park for 120 kilometers, culminating in the thunderous 40-meter plunge at Murchison Falls. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a walk to the top of the falls to witness the dramatic power of the river as it squeezes through a narrow 6-meter gap in the escarpment. Tonight, you will stay at Twiga Safari Lodge

This morning takes you to Budongo Forest inside the Murchison Falls Conservation Area for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. Budongo is a rich and vibrant forest full of bird calls, rustling leaves, and the sounds of primates. With the help of experienced guides, you will trek through the forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee community, observing their behavior as they feed, rest, or move through the canopy. Alternatively, instead of chimp tracking, you may opt for a second boat excursion—this time to the tranquil Nile Delta area, known for its exceptional birdlife and beautiful river scenery. In the afternoon, you will venture out again on a game drive to continue exploring the park’s diverse landscapes. Overnight will once again be at Twiga Safari Lodge
